Despite the turbulent weather we have had the first few trips of 2018. Plenty of fish have been caught (see Fishing Reports 2018) and good fun has been had by all, including the ship’s dog, Conrad, who can be seen making friends with one of his marine cousins.
New Food Options
As mentioned in a previous post, one small change that we are bringing in is to offer two other home-made food options as well as the full English breakfast.
This our take on a Keith Floyd recipe, and is made with all fresh ingredients including onion, garlic, ginger, tomato, lemon grass, red chili, coriander and our own recipe garam masala. We don't make it too hot chilli-wise and fresh chilli is provided and can be added to taste. It works equally well as a ready-made chicken curry or we can fillet any fish you catch on the day and add to the sauce to make a fantastic fish curry. It's served with basmati rice and bread rolls.
Chilli Con Carne
This is based on a Jamie Oliver recipe. It's made with chopped chuck steak, rather than mince, and again all fresh ingredients including onion, tomato, cinnamon stick, kidney beans and red chili. Again it's not too hot chilli wise, and red chilli can be added to taste. It's served with rice, soured cream and bread rolls.
